Flexible expansion despite limited warehouse capacity
With growing product diversity, warehouses cannot always be expanded due to lack of space. One option is to store different items in several shelves in each container and support order picking with an additional system.
This concept turned into the PickTerm Pointer container illumination as an innovative solution to expand warehouse capacity with a limited number of live storage lanes: A clearly visible light beam above a partitioned shelf indicates the proper picking station. The picker can still see the quantity to be taken out directly at the storage shelf on the PickTerm shelf display. The picking order is also confirmed here with the acknowledgement button.
Simple and sturdy
A module is installed above the container which is connected directly to the pick-by-light system via the PTF bus. This module holds several light sources that are firmly installed in a fan-shaped array. These can be actuated individually, or several of them at once, and thus signal the required removal shelf. Powerful LEDs are used as light sources.
