Latest generation of voice-operated, paperless order picking systems
In place of pick lists or an RF terminal, the picker wears earphones optimised for picking and equipped with
a microphone. The earphones are connected to a mobile computer. The entire order picking process is controlled
by voice. The PickTerm Voice system uses a speech recognition system which is independent of the speaker, thus
no teach-in time is necessary. The system is immediately ready for operation.
The Pick by Voice principle is recommended for spacious warehouse areas, for example.
Operational sequence
- Via the headset, the system instructs the pickers where in the warehouse they have to go.
- After having arrived there, they read out the check digit from the compartment and thus confirm their correct position.
- After this acknowledgement, the system specifies the quantities
to be picked from the compartment.
- The picked quantity is confirmed with key words.
- After successful confirmation of a pick, the system specifies the position of the next pick.
